And the top 10 destinations Malaysians are flocking to to usher in 2018 – ranked according to popularity – is…
Bangkok retains its position as the most popular New Year’s Eve destination for Malaysians this year. Aside from honking traffic, the bustling city is known for its pulsating nightlife and out-of-this-world NYE countdown parties. Annual fireworks can also be enjoyed by the Chao Phraya River.
Hong Kong jumped two spots from the previous year and secured the second position of Malaysian’s most favoured year-end holiday destination. The city’s glamorous NYE countdown features an extravagant musical fireworks show that illuminates the iconic Victoria Harbour. For travellers who wish to view the fireworks uninterrupted, the InterContinental Hong Kong is the best choice as it is situated on the water’s edge on the Kowloon side of the harbour.
Paris came as no surprise for families. For a magical trip, catch the mesmerising fireworks at Disneyland or simply capture those romantic moments at the festively decorated Champs-Elysees.
The place to be to count down to 2018 in Tokyo is at Shibuya Crossing. The wide crossing area and up towards Dogenzaka and Bunkamura-dori will be closed to traffic and come midnight it’ll just be tens of thousands of human bodies you’ll be seeing.
