Merdeka Burger

Serves 4


INGREDIENTS
4 frozen burger patties (beef or chicken), defrost
4 burger buns, halve
4 tsps mayonnaise
4 tsps BBQ sauce
1 head lettuce, shred
4 slices cheddar cheese
2 medium tomatoes, slice
1 cucumber, slice
2 onions, slice
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

 

METHOD

1. In a large non-stick pan, heat 1 tbsp margarine. When hot, cook burger patties until lightly golden brown. Use spatula to press down onto patties, then flip. Once cooked through, remove from heat.

2. Using another pan, heat 1 tbsp margarine, then place burger buns cut-side down, and cook until lightly browned. Remove.

3. To assemble each burger: drizzle 1 tsp mayonnaise and 1 tsp BBQ sauce onto buns, place lettuce and cooked burger patty. Top with cheese slice, tomatoes, cucumber and onions. Cover with top bun and serve hot.

Tip: If you cook the patties beforehand, simply microwave for 30 secs just before assembling.
